Koto Radio LPR Privacy Policy

Koto Radio LPR is a community internet radio station from Lappeenranta, Finland. The Koto Radio LPR app is designed for listening to the station, receiving optional live broadcast notifications, viewing public station information, and contacting the station.

Information We Collect

The Koto Radio LPR app does not require users to create an account. Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following information:

• Push notification token: if you allow notifications, the app may save a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token, platform type, and timestamps so we can notify you when a host goes live.
• Voluntary messages: if you contact Koto Radio LPR, submit music, suggest a guest, send a story idea, or message the studio, we may receive the name, email address, message, links, and other details you choose to provide.
• Beta tester signup details: if you join the beta tester programme through the website, we may collect your name, email or Google Play Gmail address, optional phone or WhatsApp number, phone type, device model, whether you are in or near Lappeenranta, whether you can test for 14 days, language preference, submission time, and notes you choose to send.
• Technical service data: Firebase, Google Play services, Apple Push Notification service, AzuraCast, Radio Revolution, or hosting providers may process basic technical data needed to deliver the app, stream, website, notifications, and security.

How We Use Information

We use information only to operate and improve Koto Radio LPR services. This includes:

• streaming the live radio station and showing now-playing or live-host status;
• sending optional notifications when a host or DJ goes live;
• responding to listener messages, music submissions, show ideas, sponsorship enquiries, and community requests;
• managing Android and iPhone beta testing, confirming tester access, and contacting testers about app feedback or release testing;
• maintaining app reliability, safety, and security.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use personal information for third-party advertising.
• We do not require location access, microphone access, camera access, contacts access, or payment information for listening to the station.
• The mobile app is a listener app and is not used as the live broadcast microphone input.

Third-Party Services

Koto Radio LPR may rely on trusted third-party services to run the app and station, including Firebase and Firebase Cloud Messaging for app data and notifications, Google Play services for Android distribution, Apple Push Notification service for iOS notifications, AzuraCast or Radio Revolution for radio streaming and now-playing metadata, and Netlify or similar hosting providers for the website.

Data Retention and Deletion

Notification tokens may be kept while notifications are enabled or until they become invalid. Voluntary contact messages and beta tester signup records may be kept as long as needed to respond, manage station activities, coordinate app testing, or keep appropriate records. You can request deletion of information you have sent to Koto Radio LPR by contacting us.

Your Choices

• You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
• You can choose not to send contact forms, emails, submissions, or story ideas.
• You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have provided to us.

Children's Privacy

Koto Radio LPR is a community radio service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International Processing

Because Koto Radio LPR uses online services, information may be processed in Finland, the European Union, or other countries where our service providers operate. We use service providers only for operating and supporting the app, website, stream, and notifications.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy when the app, station features, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last updated.
